Founded in 1882, Dante Studies is the premier journal devoted to Dante in the English-speaking world.
Dante Studies accepts submissions in English or Italian on subjects connected with Dante's life, works, influence, and critical reception. We welcome all methodological and theoretical approaches. Please send submissions by e-mail attachment in Word format to email@example.com. Submissions should follow the Dante Studies style guide, and should be no longer than 10,000 words.
Dante Studies follows a policy of double-blind review of all submissions. Authors should avoid self-references on the title page and in both the argument and the endnotes. Submissions will normally be reviewed by members of the Editorial Board within four to six weeks of receipt. Due to the ongoing challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic, the peer review timeline may undergo additional delays in response to adjustments in the personal and professional lives of readers. Authors should be in touch with the editorial assistant with any questions or to request additional time for submissions.
The Board is presently accepting essays for review for the 2022 issue (volume 140). The latest issue in print is 2020 (volume 138). Publication and distribution of the 2021 issue (volume 139) is anticipated for fall 2022.
